To help you structure and personalise your CV with specific task of tailoring it, to the job role you want to apply for in either a temporary or permanent capacity.

Here are the following 6 steps, to guide you during the creation process:

  1. ​In the Personnel Statement section keep the summary of your work experience and it includes specific details of your applicable experience related to the job advertisement and do not generalise. Ensure that this part is kept short and straight to the point with a written entry in this section at most five to six lines.

  2. In the Key Skills section of the document you will need to make sure that you streamline the essentialskills that you can bring to role, for example , software or hardware packages, you have worked with in an IT related job. Again, the written key strength of your skills will need to be bullet-points and a maximum of six to eight lines at most in this section.

  3. In the Work Experience section should work backwards to include your most current or recent work history and thereafter, previous work experience or relevant volunteer placement. Obviously, do showcase your skills, experience in one lined sentences for each job role and also make use of bullet-points to highlight your essential responsibilities.

  4. In the Education section, this should be self explanatory, following the similar written approach of the work experience mentioned earlier to list your qualifications, educational institutions attended, course undertaken and grade achieved. Also, make sure that you highlighany further education, training courses or membership/professional/industry standard attended and qualifications achieved.

  5. In the Hobbies section, it is self explanatory of the social activities you currently engage in during your personative. To give the potential employer indication of your capacity, to engage individual or team circle.

  6. In the References section, a simple 'References are available on request' which should be place be placed at the  end and the centre of your CV. You should reserve, giving a full reference on this document, unless requested by an recruitment agency or an employer.
